Dutch lessor AerCap has announced that it has closed $1.3bn of new credit facilities.

It includes a $800m facility for the financing of 13 aircraft over a nine-year term and an additional $500m facility for the purchase of nine aircraft over a five-year period.

Amsterdam-headquartered AerCap said the facilities will primarily be used to acquire new narrowbody and widebody aircraft as they deliver from Boeing and Airbus through the end of 2016.

Paul Rofe, group treasurer of AerCap, said the closing of the transactions “further demonstrates AerCap’s excellent access to liquidity.”
