Air India To Lease 14 A320neos

Flag carrier Air India has signed a lease agreement for 14 A320neo aircraft with Kuwait-based lessor Alafco.

Flag carrier Air India has signed a lease agreement for 14 A320neo aircraft with Kuwait-based lessor Alafco.

Under the terms of the contract signed at the Hyderabad airshow on Thursday (March 17), Air India will begin operating the aircraft from 2017.

In a statement, Airbus said the airline will benefit from the A320neo’s 15 per cent fuel burn reduction, reduced noise and environmental footprint, while “offering its passengers the best in class comfort.”

Air India already operates more than 60 of the A320 family aircraft type, comprised of 22 A319s, 24 A320s and 20 A321s.
