Air Madagascar Expands ATR Fleet

Flag carrier Air Madagascar has placed an order for three ATR 72-600s in a deal worth $77m at current list prices.

Flag carrier Air Madagascar has placed an order for three ATR 72-600s in a deal worth $77m at current list prices.

The carrier confirmed that it expects the first aircraft to be delivered from 2017.

Air Madagascar has also signed a deal with Irish lessor Elix Aviation Capital to lease two additional ATR 72-600s.

The first leased aircraft was delivered today (March 18) with the second due to arrive next month.

The latest orders adds to Air Madagascar’s existing ATR fleet, which consists of one ATR 42-500 and two ATR 72-500s.
