Air Niugini Eyes Capacity Growth With New MAX Order

Papua New Guinea’s Air Niugini has been named as the carrier behind a previously undisclosed order for four 737 MAX 8s.

<p>Papua New Guinea’s Air Niugini has been named as the carrier behind a previously undisclosed order for four 737 MAX 8s.<p>Air Niugini chairman Frederick Reiher said the aircraft would “enable us to increase flight frequencies and develop into new markets”. The first of these is expected to be China.<p>Operating from Port Moresby, Air Niugini currently flies 737s and 767-300ERs to destinations in Australia, Singapore, Indonesia, Fiji, Philippines, Solomon Islands, Hong Kong, Vanuatu and Japan.</p>
