The new widebodies form part of Air Tahiti Nui’s plans to renew its fleet and will replace its A340 aircraft along with two 787s to be leased from Aircraft Leasing Corporation.

The carrier announced in February that it intended to replace its fleet of five A340 aircraft with the 787 from Q4 2018.
