AirAsia Backs Aid Network

AirAsia’s A320 is to spend 10 hours flight time on humanitarian duty for charity Airlink in Southeast Asia. The company will commit 180 personnel and cargo space up to eight tones should a catastrophe strike in the region. Mostly funded by the International Society of Transport Aircraft Trading (ISTAT) Foundation, Airlink became an independent non-profit in early 2013. The move allowed the organisation to broaden financial and volunteer support, and involve airlines more directly in its work.
