Airbus is to establish its first authorised maintenance training centre in South America after signing an agreement with Aerolineas Argentinas.

The deal will see the OEM support Aerolineas in delivering maintenance and engineering training on A320, A330 and A340 aircraft at its Buenos Aires facility.

As part of the deal, the OEM will train the carrier’s instructors and provide access to courseware and virtual tools.

Aerolineas will then be able to provide Airbus-authorised training to its personnel and to third-parties in the region.

Pablo Ceriani, vice-president of Aerolineas, said the agreement gives the airline “huge advantages” and confirmed it is looking at offering training to other airlines and maintenance organisations.
