Airlines Seeking New MRO Suppliers

Airlines purchasing managers attending Aviation Week Network’s ap&m event in London were seeking suppliers for everything from expendables to interior modifications and heavy checks.

LONDON--Airlines buyers participating in ap&m’s Meet the Buyer meetings May 31 sought diverse aftermarket needs.

For instance, Luxair, which operates Boeing 737NGs and Bombardier Q400s and is based in Luxembourg, is looking for Q400 component repairs. ULS Airlines Cargo in Turkey is seeking Airbus A310 landing gear, brakes, expendable and rotables support.

Portugalia Airlines has a long shopping list, which includes Embraer EMB190 and 195 heavy checks, component repairs, rotables and expendables. Because it is standardizing its interiors with TAP, it also is searching for an interiors modifications vendor, says an airline source. By the end of the summer, the carrier expects to grow its fleet to 13 from 11 aircraft.

Latvia-based SmartLynx, which operates Airbus A320s, attended the event to find new parts suppliers and companies that provide logistics and supply chain solutions.
