AJW has signed a new agreement with Air New Zealand to extend its component maintenance and repair service offerings at the airline’s engineering and maintenance facility in Auckland.

Under the contract, Air New Zealand’s maintenance arm will carry out component MRO, on behalf of AJW, for low-cost carrier Tigerair Australia’s fleet of 13 A320s.

Bruce Parton, chief operating officer at Air New Zealand, said the deal builds on the existing relationship between the airline and AJW and aims to create a strong hub for component maintenance in the Asia-Pacific region.

Air New Zealand's existing contract with AJW sees the leasing of components to the airline for its fleet of 28 A320 aircraft, three of which are on order.
