ALC Offloads ATR Fleet

Lessor Air Lease Corporation (ALC) has sold its fleet of 25 ATR aircraft to turboprop lessor Nordic Aviation Capital (NAC) for an undisclosed amount.

Lessor Air Lease Corporation (ALC) has sold its fleet of 25 ATR aircraft to turboprop lessor Nordic Aviation Capital (NAC) for an undisclosed amount.

In a statement released on Monday (January 4), ALC said the sale is a result of its decision to focus primarily on mainline aircraft instead of turboprops, which now account for less than five per cent of its current fleet.

ALC’s chairman and CEO Steven Udvar-Házy said capital raised from the sale will be used to further invest in other aircraft.

Los Angeles-based ALC said it anticipates the majority of the aircraft will be transferred to NAC during the first half of 2016.
