American Airlines and US Airways have expanded their codeshare again as the effects of their merger begin to take hold. This phase of the codeshare extends it to all flights across the combined global network, except for a select few international markets due to regulatory requirements. The airlines say passengers will have access to nearly 6,500 daily flights to more than 275 destinations in the combined global network. American Airlines president Scott Kirby said the airlines were implementing “the world's largest codeshare, providing our customers convenient access to the best network in the business”. The two airlines expect to codeshare on every international flight by the end of the first quarter.
