All Nippon Airways (ANA) has reported a wiring fault in extinguishing system of one of its 787 Dreamliners. ANA said the defect was found when carrying out maintenance checks at Tokyo Haneda’s airport. The wiring was fixed and the aircraft continued its scheduled flight to Frankfurt, Germany. However, fellow Japanese carrier, Japan Airlines (JAL) aborted a flight to Helsinki today after hearing ANA’s statement. JAL plans to check all of its 787s for the fault. The two airlines reportedly lost a combined $200m in revenue due to issues with the 787 so far. Both the airlines are in talks with Boeing regarding compensation for these losses.
