Air New Zealand (ANZ) has chosen Rolls-Royce’s Trent 1000 engine to power an additional two 787-9 aircraft and taken out a “long-term” TotalCare MRO package with the OEM.

The new order, which firms up an option, brings ANZ’s total Trent-powered fleet to 12.

The airline was the first to order the Trent 1000 in 2004 and, in July this year, took delivery of the first completed 787-9.
