Arkia Israeli Airlines has become Israel’s first Airbus long-haul aircraft customer with an order for up to four A330-900neo aircraft from Airbus.

The airline said it will use the aircraft to expand its operations in the long-haul business and leisure markets, but has yet to confirm a delivery date.

“The A330-900 neo will be a key asset to help us grow efficiently on highly competitive international long-haul routes from and to Israel,” said Nir Dagan, ARKIA’s president and CEO.

ARKIA’s A330-900s will join the carrier’s fleet of four A321neo aircraft it ordered at the Farnborough International Air Show in 2012.
