AWAS has confirmed the leasing of two A320s to VietJet Air as part of the low-cost carrier’s fleet expansion strategy.

The deal sees AWAS providing a financing solution for the two aircraft and then placing them on long-term leases with the airline in 2016.

The latest transaction is the the fourth between the two parties for a total of eight new passenger aircraft, a mix of A320s and A321s sourced from both VietJet’s and AWAS’ direct order pipeline.

Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao, president and CEO of VietJet, said: “AWAS understands our fast- moving culture and expanding low cost business model and have been flexible and assured business partners.”
