Boeing has confirmed that Air Canada will be the launch customer of its landing gear exchange programmes for the 777-300ER and 777-200LR.

Under the agreement, Air Canada will receive overhauled and certified landing gear shipsets for its fleet of 17 777-300ERs and six 777-200LRs during scheduled maintenance cycles.

Boeing said the expansion of its landing gear offering will give more airlines access to a cost-effective and reliable alternative to purchasing new landing gear and performing equipment overhaul.

The OEM supplies landing gear overhaul and exchange solutions to more than 80 customers on the MD-11, 717, 737NG, 747-400ER, 757-300, 767-300ER and 777-200ER.
