The first Q400 NextGen aircraft configured for the maximum 86 seats has been delivered to launch customer Nok Air.

The turboprop aircraft is the first of six Q400 NextGen aircraft that the Thai low-cost carrier ordered in November 2013, with an option to order a further two aircraft.

The extra capacity seating configuration makes use of slim-line seats and moves the baggage compartment to fit in a further six seats, making the Q400 NextGen the only commercial turboprop to offer 86 seats, according to Bombardier.
