Canada Clears Electronic Devices For Passengers

Canada has relaxed restrictions on electronic devices and mobile telephones on flights, but a ban on transmitting information remains. The move follows changes to regulations in the US and EU. Mobile devices, cameras, smartphones, games and computers are now cleared on flights crossing Canadian airspace. Devices must be turned off during take-off and landing. Airlines are required to update safety information and routines before flights taking advantage of the regulations. Phone calls and emails remain prohibited in all circumstances.
