China Southern Commits To 80 737s

China Southern Airlines has confirmed a commitment to buy 80 737s from Boeing.

China Southern Airlines has confirmed a commitment to buy 80 737s from Boeing.

The commitment is comprised of 30 737NGs and 50 737 MAX aircraft, valued at $8.3bn at current list prices.

Ihssane Mounir, Boeing's senior vice-president of Northeast Asia sales, said the commitment is a “solid endorsement of the popularity of the Next-Generation 737 and 737 MAX aircraft.”

The Guangzhou-based carrier currently operates a fleet of 512 aircraft made up of Boeing, Airbus, Embraer and Comac jets.
