Start-up airline Congo Airways has bought two A320-200s from Alitalia.

According to French news organisation AFP, Congo Airways will take the first A320 later this month with the second arriving just before the carrier’s August launch.

Congo Airways was originally scheduled to begin operating at the end of June. It was also reported that the airline, based out of Kinshasa Ndjili, is looking to acquire Bombardier Dash 8-400 aircraft for its regional operations.
