Delta Air Lines is on the verge of ordering up to 125 CSeries aircraft from Bombardier, according to reports.

Delta Air Lines is on the verge of ordering up to 125 CSeries aircraft from Bombardier, according to reports.

The Wall Street Journal reported on Thursday (April 14) that three people familiar with the negotiations said that if completed, the aircraft deal would consist of 75 firm orders and 50 options.

With an agreement expected to be announced by the end of April, the aircraft would be used to replace Delta’s existing fleet of more than 100 MD-80s.

If finalised, the deal would bring a further boost for Bombardier’s troubled CSeries programme, following Air Canada signing a letter of intent in February to buy 45 CS300s with options for a further 30 of the aircraft.
