The CEO of Dobrolet, Aeroflot’s newly launched low-cost subsidiary, has told the Russian press that the airline will take delivery of 16 new 737s from 2017.

The CEO of Dobrolet, Aeroflot’s newly launched low-cost subsidiary, has told the Russian press that the airline will take delivery of 16 new 737s from 2017.

In an interview with Gazeta, Andrei Kalmykov said that the carrier had already paid a deposit for the aircraft. Boeing, however, has made no announcement about the order.

Kalmykov’s comments came just days after Dobrolet was forced to halt its operations, blaming European sanctions for the cancellation of its lease of a 737.
