Aeroflot will replace its grounded low-cost airline, Dobrolet, during this winter season, according to its general director for strategy and alliances Giorgio Callegari.

Speaking at the World Low Cost Airlines Congress yesterday (September 16), Callegari said the company will not contest the EU sanctions that grounded Dobrolet, but will instead set up a new carrier which meets market needs and adheres to international regulations.

The director said that passengers and the aircraft are waiting for operations to begin again and it seems that Aeroflot is likewise eager to get back to serving its growth market.
