Low-cost carrier easyJet yesterday (March 18, 2013) commenced flights from London Gatwick to Moscow, the airline’s 100th route from Gatwick. “This is a historic day for easyJet, not only are we launching flights between London Gatwick and Moscow but it is also the first day our shares are traded on the FTSE 100,” commented Carolyn McCall, easyJet CEO. “Offering frequent and affordable flights enables easyJet to play a key role to aid trade links between the two countries,” she stated. The airline expects to fly more than 250,000 passengers between London and Moscow each year. From March 28, 2013, the airline will also operate services to Moscow from Manchester.
