European ANSPs To Cooperate

Air navigation service providers from Central Europe and the Mediterranean are to work together to optimise routes and share information on training and operations. The agreement is between the Central European Functional Airspace Block (FAB), which covers Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Czech Republic, Croatia, Hungary, Slovakia and Slovenia, and the BLUE MED FAB, which is made up of providers in Cyprus, Greece, Italy and Malta. The blocks have agreed to share strategic and technical information to improve the efficiency of air traffic management across the FABs. The aim is to optimise the use of airspace and shorten flight routes, which will help to reduce operating costs for airlines and cut CO2 emissions.
