Lufthansa’s budget airline Eurowings will begin operating intercontinental flights on October 25.
The carrier officially launched ticket sales yesterday (March 4), and passengers can now book flights from Cologne Bonn Airport to destinations in the Caribbean, the UAE and Thailand.
Eurowings' long-haul fleet will initially consist of two A330-200 aircraft, with plans to expand to a total of seven. SunExpress, a joint venture of Lufthansa and Turkish Airlines, will operate the aircraft on behalf of Eurowings.
Lufthansa has confirmed the first Eurowings base outside of Germany will be located in Vienna.
