Finnair Makes Joint Venture Moves

Finnair has formally joined the transatlantic joint venture founded by Oneworld members American Airlines (AA), British Airways (BA) and Iberia, and is also seeking approval to join the BA and Japan Airlines (JAL) Europe-Japan joint venture. The airline said both moves were examples of the company “pursuing tighter co-operation within the Oneworld alliance to improve network connectivity and better serve the needs of intercontinental customers”. As part of the transatlantic joint business, Finnair has added its code to selected AA, BA and Iberia flights between North America and Europe. AA, BA and Iberia have also added their respective codes to Finnair’s daily flights between New York and Helsinki.
