FLY Leasing has acquired a new 777-200LRF aircraft in a sale and 12-year leaseback transaction with an unnamed flag carrier.

The Ireland-based lessor said the deal is its second 777-200LRF acquisition in the past month as it continues to grow its fleet as part of an expansion strategy.

FLY confirmed that so far this year, it has invested $594m in nine aircraft with an average age of one year.

Colm Barrington, CEO of FLY, said: “With a strong cash reserve, FLY is in an excellent position to take advantage of attractive growth opportunities.”
