Flydubai Selects Avionica For 737 Avionics Suite

Low-cost carrier flydubai has signed an agreement with Avionica for a suite of avionics on 11 of its new 737 aircraft.

The aircraft are scheduled for delivery from this year to 2017 and will include the Miami-based avionics specialist’s satellite communications system satLINK MAX, a quick-access recorder (miniQAR), the 4G avCM module for wireless communications, the gatelink terminal WiFi communications system, and the aviONS on-board server platform.

The new agreement continues a relationship between the parties which goes back more than seven years, with Avionica previously delivering more than 60 satellite communication, miniQAR, and 3G cellular communications units to flydubai for installation on the airline’s 737 fleet.

Avionica said the latest contract marks its transition into next generation satellite and 4G cellular communications systems.
