Fuel-Efficiency Demand Drives FMS

The flight management system (FMS) market is estimated to be worth $600m this year, rising to more than $900m by 2020, according to the latest analysis by Markets and Markets. Growth in the use of FMS is being driven by increasing demand for better fuel management, the introduction of new aircraft and high fleet growth in emerging markets, such as Asia-Pacific, and the Middle East. The report also concludes that next generation aircraft, such as the 737 MAX, 787-9 and A380, are contributing to the growth of technically advanced FMS.
