Indonesia's national airline, Garuda Indonesia, is celebrating its first flight of an ATR 72-600 aircraft. The inaugural flight started from Denpasar (Bali) at 08.00am (local time). It landed at Labuan Bajo (East Nusa Tenggara province) and Bima (West Nusa Tenggara province). Earlier this year, Garuda announced its order of 25 ATR 72-600s, plus 10 options, under a joint agreement with the Danish leasing firm, Nordic Aviation Capital.
The airline will launch regular scheduled ATR operations on December 3, with flights from Bali to Labuan Bajo and Ende, and from Bali to Bima and Mataram.
