GE Aviation has extended its industrial internet contract with China Eastern Airlines covering data analysis on the carrier’s fleet of around 270 aircraft.
The agreement, which extends a previous agreement signed in 2014 by another year, will see GE work with the airline on flight analytics, engine management analytics and fuel efficiency to bring improved operational productivity to China Eastern’s operations while also identifying cost savings.
GE will also provide training programmes aimed at improving China Eastern’s engine management capabilities and six sigma training courses.
Liu Shaoyong, chairman of China Eastern, said: “China Eastern and GE are continuing their cooperation on flight operation data research, which is an innovative cooperation model of production and operation in the industry. We believe our cooperation with GE will generate very important value for the development of the aviation industry.”
