Inflight wi-fi specialist Gogo has received a Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) from the FAA to launch its 2Ku satellite connectivity service on Aeromexico’s fleet of 737-800 aircraft.

The certification allows Gogo and Aeromexico to offer the service and begin testing the technology, while enabling further 2Ku installations on Aeromexico’s fleet in the coming months.

The deal expands on the relationship between the two parties, with Chicago-based Gogo already providing its Gogo Vision offering on the airline’s fleet of 737-700s and Embraer’s E-190 and E-170 aircraft.
