The market for aircraft ground-handling systems is estimated to be worth $347.5m this year, rising to $456.8m by 2019, says a report by Markets and Markets. Market growth is expected to be highest in the Middle East, while in Asia-Pacific and Latin America growth rates are expected to be consistent to 2019. “Growth will depend largely on the increase in number of airlines and airports. Expansion, upgrades of existing airports and technology advancements, will also increase the demand for aircraft ground handling systems,” the company said. The report suggests that new aircraft design and composite technology could force ground service providers to use alternative processes, which could have a significant impact on cost and efficiency.
