Growth In Cargo Has Been “Solid”, Says IATA

The volume of goods being sent by air freight has grown solidly across the world over the past year, but growth in the coming months is expected to be weaker  according to IATA. In its latest analysis of the global cargo market, IATA confirms that while greater consumer confidence has boosted air freight in 2014, world trade volumes have started to decline. The report confirms that aircraft utilisation rates have fallen slightly in recent months, reflecting the slowdown in demand, and that this trend is set to rise as new aircraft come on line this year. These are expected to expand the existing widebody fleet by almost eight per cent.
