Bahrain’s national carrier Gulf Air has confirmed the suspension of its flights to and from Yemen’s capital Sana’a owing to concerns over “safety and security”.

The carrier has ceased its five weekly scheduled flights today (March 26) until further notice following IS suicide bombers’ attack on two mosques in the city last week which left more than 140 people dead and 350 wounded.

The carrier has confirmed it is monitoring the situation around Sana’a International Airport and hopes to resume services “as soon as operational conditions permit”.
