China’s HNA Group has reportedly had two bids worth up to $2.2bn for aircraft lessor AWAS rejected by its parent company Terra Firm.

Reuters reported that HNA lodged its first bid for AWAS at the end of 2015 and followed up with an improved second offer taking into account its fleet value minus aircraft earmarked for sale.

While yet to comment, a move for AWAS would further increase HNA’s leasing market share after it completed the acquisition of Irish lessor Avolon through its Bohai Leasing division for around $7.6m last year.
