The chairman of Iberia has said the Spanish carrier will implement fresh job cuts upon finalising its current round of redundancies.

Luis Gallego told Reuters on Monday (March 14) that there was room for 462 job losses this year in the current redundancy programme agreed in 2014 which will see up to 1,427 roles cut from then up to 2017.

Gallego was quoted by the news agency as stating the airline “still had an excess of people in some units" but didn't elaborate on numbers.
