Iran's aircraft fleet is set for an overhaul following the lifting of international sanctions on its aviation industry on Sunday. Iran's supply of aircraft spare parts has been limited due to these sanctions but it will now be able to import spare parts in order to modernise its fleet. Iran's average aircraft age is 22. Hamidreza Ghavabesh, the secretary of the Iranian air travel agencies, told the Tasnim News Agency that Iran will reinstall 100 grounded aircraft now the sanction has been lifted. It is thought that over 60 per cent of Iran's 220 aircraft are currently grounded.
