Indian carrier Jet Airways has reported a FYQ3 2015 net profit of 467 crores ($68m), a company record for a quarter.
Mumbai-headquartered Jet Airways said the profit for the three months to December 31, 2015 marked a year-on-year rise of more than 600 per cent, beating FYQ3 2014’s figure of 63 crores ($9m).
Revenues in the quarter stood at 5702 crores ($840.2m), increasing from FYQ3 2014’s 266 crores ($39.1m).
The carrier also saw year on year increases in domestic capacity (14.6 per cent) and passenger traffic (15 per cent), while international capacity and passenger traffic grew by 2.6 per cent and 5.1 per cent respectively.
Naresh Goyal, chairman of Jet Airways, attributed the strong FYQ3 results to “several initiatives undertaken for improving productivity and efficiency.”
