Kenya Airways has agreed the sale of two 777-200ER aircraft to US charter airline Omni Air International.

Kenya Airways has agreed the sale of two 777-200ER aircraft to US charter airline Omni Air International.

The airline announced it was to sell the aircraft in November 2014 as part of plans to rationalise its fleet as part of its turnaround strategy.

Both aircraft will be with Omni Air by the end of Q1 2016, which the first expected to leave Kenya by the end of January.

Mbuvi Ngunze, Kenya Airways managing director and CEO, said the sale had taken longer than expected and said the Nairobi-based carrier will make further fleet announcements before the end of the month.
