KLM Cityhopper (KLC) has confirmed options for two additional E175 aircraft with Embraer worth an estimated $88.8m.

The original order, announced in March 2015, covers 17 firm orders (15 E175s and two E190s) and 17 options all for the E175 version.

Boet Kreiken, managing director of the Dutch regional airline, said: "The E190 cabin and seat appreciation by our passengers, the operational reliability, the advanced maintenance technology, the fuel consumption and CO-2 footprint contributed to KLC success."

The first of the aircraft is scheduled to enter the KLC fleet in March 2016.
