Korean A330 Hits Bangkok ATR

A Korean Air A330 clipped the tail of a Bangkok Airways ATR 72-600 aircraft at Yangon International Airport in Myanmar on Friday (February 13).

A Korean Air A330 clipped the tail of a Bangkok Airways ATR 72-600 aircraft at Yangon International Airport in Myanmar on Friday (February 13).

The collision caused “significant” damage to the ATR’s rudder and trim tabs which resulted in the aircraft receiving a request to turn back 20 minutes after take-off to its destination of Incheon, Korea.

The A330’s pilots and crew were not aware of the incident and took off as scheduled with 134 passengers on board.
