Cho Hyun-ah, the former VP of Korean Air, has appeared in court over a dispute that led to a flight being delayed.

Cho Hyun-ah, also known as Heather Cho, was traveling first-class on a Korean Air flight from New York to Incheon, South Korea, when she demanded the aircraft was turned around so that a crew member be kicked off for serving her macadamia nuts in their packet instead of in a bowl.

The incident caused controversy and widespread media coverage leading the VP, also the daughter of the airline’s chairman, to resign.

She now stands trial for obstructing aviation safety.

Cho's lawyers have argued that the incident was exaggerated.

Cho is also accused of coercion regarding the government investigation.
