Airbus has delivered an A320 fitted with sharklet wing tips to Kuwait Airways as part of the carrier’s fleet renewal plan.

The delivery marks the first of a 37 aircraft order made by Kuwait in February 2013, including the leasing of seven A320ceo and five A330-200, and the purchase of 10 A350-900 and 15 A320neo family aircraft.

Airbus claimed the new A320 fitted with the sharklets will deliver up to four per cent in fuel savings, as well as a better rate-of-climb, higher optimum altitude and reduced engine maintenance costs.
