LATAM Introduces Kevlar Containers

LATAM Airlines has purchased 3,517 Kevlar containers from Nordisk Aviation Products. The new containers will replace those used in the company’s cargo operations as well as those of LAN CARGO, MasAir, LAN CARGO Colombia and TAM Colombia. The air containers help transport large cargo volumes in a single unit, whilst being able to mobilise different types of cargo at a faster pace and with greater security and control. The Kevlar material which is used to manufacture the containers has high impact resistance and sustainability when exposed to high temperatures, and is five times stronger than the same amount of steel by weight, providing “ultra-lightness and strength”, according to LAN.
