Lower Fuel Costs Help Delta Post $4.5bn Net Profit For 2015

Delta Air Lines has reported a net profit of $4.5bn for 2015, with the airline boosted by a 44 per cent annual saving in fuel costs.

Delta Air Lines has reported a net profit of $4.5bn for 2015, with the airline boosted by a 44 per cent annual saving in fuel costs.

The annual net profit, bolstered by Q4 net earnings of $980m, far surpasses last year’s net profit of $659m.

In 2015, revenues at the Atlanta-based carrier rose slightly by one per cent year on year to $40.7bn while expenses were reduced by 14 per cent to $32.9bn.

Looking towards this year, Delta said it anticipates a saving of $3bn from lower fuel prices and other cost reduction measures.
