Lufthansa Confirms 102-Aircraft Order

Lufthansa has confirmed that it will take 102 new Airbus aircraft worth $11.2bn at list prices, following approval from its supervisory board. The order, which has now been finalised, includes 35 A320neos, 35 A321neos, 30 current-generation A320s with Sharklets and two A380s.The Lufthansa Group is Airbus’ largest airline customer, with a total of 532 orders and 385 aircraft in operation. “This third A380 order is a clear sign that the aircraft is working well for our prestigious customer, Lufthansa,” said John Leahy, Airbus’ chief operating officer, customers. “I am equally pleased, that with this order we are getting close to 2,000 NEO orders in just over two years.” Lufthansa is yet to announce its engine choices.
