Lufthansa To Install Broadband On Aircraft

German flag carrier Lufthansa has said it plans to retrofit broadband internet on all of its aircraft used for short and medium-haul routes.

The airline’s maintenance division Lufthansa Technik will work with technology firm Inmarsat on the programme which will include installation as well all tasks required in aviation and licensing law.

Lufthansa chairman Carsten Spohr said the carrier wants to complete the installation on its entire fleet following the fitting of internet on all of its widebody aircraft.

The first aircraft is expected to be fitted with internet connectivity in early summer 2016.
