Magellan Aerospace To Supply Airbus Components

Magellan Aerospace has extended its contract with Airbus for the supply of aluminum and titanium structural wing components from its European facilities and its joint ventures in India.

Magellan Aerospace has extended its contract with Airbus for the supply of aluminum and titanium structural wing components from its European facilities and its joint ventures in India.

The new contract worth CDN$700m ($549m) is comprised of precision machined details and assemblies for use on A320 and A330 Family aircraft as well as on the A380 programme.

In addition to the contract extension for the machined components, Magellan will also supply certain A380 wing ribs to Airbus in a separate agreement valued at CDN$20m ($15.7m).

Phillip Underwood, president and CEO of Magellan said: “The long-term nature of the contract will allow us to make infrastructure investments in both our domestic and emerging market operations to ensure that we are able to offer our customer a competitive and reliable source into the next decade.”
